Renault F1 gears up for Second Life

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Bored at the non-GP weekends? Why not stepping by the ING Renault F1 Team in SL! The space is fairlly simple and straight in its design, but in motorsports it’s all about efficiency anyway. ;) But it does feature its own racetrack where you can test your driving skills around the island. Not F1 unfortunately, but cart can be fun too! The cart and helmet (yes, it’s MANDATORY in SL as well) are provided as freebies at the track.

A fully equipped media centre with giant tv-screens for press conferences and other events also also at your service. Thus there is no excuse for missing any more motorsport action.

Second Life Cover

For some it is just a game, for others the future of the Internet. You go shopping, meet new people, big corps open subsidiaries, politicians hold press conferences, there is sex and even more sex - and everyone wants to be a part of all that. Just like it was the real world.

Christian Stöcker, editor at Germany’s news authority Spiegel Online, joined in and explored the fascinating 3-D world:

He indulged with his avatar “Sponto” in cyber-acquaintances, virtual real-estate shopping and many other exciting adventures. On his journey, he put together a very useful 101: How to move from A to B? Where do I find what? How can I design my SL-world? Is it worth it? And where does it get dirty or even dangerous?

In SL every inhabitant reinvents himself according to his own wishes and lives a life he has ever dreamed of - without rules or boundaries. You want to fly? An oceanside villa with jacuzzi? Casual sex avery day? Or lead your own megacorp? No problemo in virtual wonderland. Second Life offers a fresh restart for everyone.
