Second Life (not only second life deutsch!) is getting even more realistic pretty soon! The current Havok 1 engine will sooon be replaced by Havok 4 (yes, the one from HALO, F.E.A.R, etc…). This shoul bring a more realistic physical experience. Sir Isaac Newton would have been soooo proud! Let’s drop an apple, dude…

Since yesterday (Sep 24, 2007), the European “food and everything else” retailing giant PLUS has startet its SL presence, making it the first appearance of an brick-and-mortar discounter at all.
One day before, the respective landing page went life. So check it out. No word if you will be able to pay with linden $ in their real world stores though…

As presented at this year’s Games Convention:
A company called Reality Service enables you to 3D-print your avatar. A special 3D-printer mixes plastic powders with up to 16 million colors and forms a multi-layered object.
The figure will be 20-25 cm high and also feature your SL name (if you wish). Sounds cool, doesn’t it?

Since August 2, everone can experience the beauty of the new SL voice funcionality within the standard client. The function is optional, yet lots of fun! Landlords can also decide wether or not they’ll allow voice chat on their islands (or in German: Inseln).
