Second Life is a lot mor fun if you have a great and individual Avatar. Here's some information on how you can design and create your own virtual you: your Second Life avatar.
Once you entered the Second Life World, you will find yourself in a default version of an avatar. You have two options now: Staying in the default avatar with plain jeans, shirt and an average look (not very sexy and differentiating). Or decide using Second Life's possibilities to tailor-made you avatar.
Do not let you intimidate by the huge number of options, resulting from the numerous combinations of items, elements, colors and settings. The basic tool in Second Life is easy to use and let you set up a nice avatar, already pretty close to what you have in mind in just minutes.
To enter the edit menu right-click on your avatar and choose "Appearance".

Here are the basis options and settings using from the edit menu:
Shape: Here you can define shape and overall form and shape of your avatar. And also you select the sex / gender.
Skin: Choose the color of your avatar's skin. Options are skin details, makeup and tattoos.
Hair: Color and style of your hair are configurable, as well as eyebrows and facial hair.
Eyes: Changes eye color and shape. Additionally you can use an image file for your eyes.
Clothing: Here you can take off pieces of clothing or configure them. Shoes, Shirt, Jacket, Pants, Undershirt, Socks, Gloves, Underpants, Skirt are available. Settings are dimensions, color, style and texture.
Almost any creation in Second Life is attachable to the avatar. If you take a look at the residents, many of them wear hats, earrings, swords or NBA jerseys. Attach an object from your inventory, by right-click the object from your inventory and choose the option "Wear".
One secret of second life's success is the possibility to create and upgrade your avatar. For instance you can create clothing using popular paint programs like Photoshop or Corel Photopaint. Creating Tattoos is an option not only in the real world. Apply images and textures of your own design and apply them to your avatar.
